I've been working as a Marketing Lead at a healthcare organization for about 10 months now. For the first six months, I was essentially a one-person team, managing everything in the department. We eventually brought someone on board to help, but they resigned due to our CEO's tough management style, which I would describe as 'my way or the highway.' Recently, we hired another employee who is qualified but has limited English proficiency. I've been expected to train her, which includes helping with basic computer functions and using translation tools. While I don't mind training someone, the language barrier has made this process much more time-consuming than I anticipated. When I brought this up to my CEO, his response was pretty dismissive—he said, 'It is what it is,' and compared the situation to when he hired me, saying that working in a diverse city should teach me how to navigate other languages. The problem is that about 80% of our patients and clients speak English, and effective communication is crucial in healthcare marketing and outreach. I’m not questioning the new hire’s qualifications, but I feel like I'm being given additional responsibilities without any discussion or support. After hearing my concerns dismissed, I'm seriously considering quitting, even though I don't have another job lined up. I have enough savings to cover a couple of years of rent, so I’m weighing my options. Should I stick it out while job hunting or make the leap and quit?
