Today, I reflected on my situation as a Gastronomy and Culinary Arts student in Cyprus. I have accumulated about $7,000 in university debt, and returning to Iran isn't an option for me due to my escape from military service. My family is unable to provide any financial support, which adds to the pressure. Currently, I work at a good restaurant, but my pay is around $700 a month, which is essentially minimum wage or even less. I put in 8-hour shifts where I handle various tasks—washing dishes, carrying heavy items, cooking, and preparing ingredients. I'm also considering getting my motorcycle certificate to take on delivery driving to supplement my income. Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful for the future. I believe that these tough times are shaping me into a stronger person, and I look forward to a day when I can look back and laugh at my struggles. To anyone else facing similar hardships, I encourage you to stay strong and keep pushing forward.
