I was laid off from my job on September 1st, and since then, I've been actively searching for new opportunities. At 35, I've been in the workforce since I was 18, and I've never gone without a job for more than a few months. I've attended several job conferences and have taken some classes at my community college to enhance my skills. However, the job market feels incredibly stagnant right now. I've had a few interviews, but there seems to be a lack of traction. It feels like companies want to hire but are hesitant due to the current economic climate, which has them holding back on making decisions. This is the toughest job market I've experienced, and it feels like there are a lot of ghost postings out there. I can't help but wonder if it's because companies are waiting to see if they can replace roles with AI or automation. Overall, I'm feeling quite frustrated with the whole situation.
