I just got laid off from my producer role at a niche production house in Hollywood. It's a tough moment for me, as I've always found it challenging to secure project manager positions. I've been applying to various roles, but it feels like the project manager profession is dwindling. I'm starting to wonder what fields are still thriving and if I need to consider retraining for something else. Any advice on what skills or industries are currently in demand would be greatly appreciated.

I recently read an article about the job market, but it just doesn't reflect what I'm experiencing here in Los Angeles, CA. It feels like the market is stagnant, with layoffs happening in various industries almost daily. I've noticed that unemployment benefits don't last long enough to cover the duration of unemployment, which adds to the stress. The jobs that are available often pay very low wages, like $17 per hour, which is not enough to keep up with the rising cost of living. I'm curious about how the job market is in other areas.
