I recently found myself unemployed and noticed how quickly the end of the month approaches when you have bills to pay. I'm feeling the pressure as I have several payments due soon, including $280 to Sam's Club today, $2,856 to Capital One by November 3, and $847 to my Chase credit card by November 11. On top of that, I pay my mother $380 each month, along with some subscriptions that add up. My financial situation is tight, but I have some savings to fall back on, including $19,340 in my Chase checking account and $4,355 in my Discover/Capital One savings account. Still, life has a way of humbling you, and my sleep schedule has taken a hit. Right now, I’m focused on finding a full-time job that meets my expectations, ideally one that pays over $80k so I can cover my rent, utilities, car insurance, and phone bill. My mother has been a huge support during this time, and I’m determined to get back on my feet. I’ve been sending out over ten applications daily, and I’m motivated by the thought of being able to provide for her in the future. I’ve learned a lot from being on both sides of the employment spectrum, and it’s made me more discerning about the jobs I apply for. I’m ready to hustle and make a change, so here’s to a productive day of job searching!
