    Planning Thinking

I recently interviewed for a position with my local town government last week. The interview went well, and they mentioned they would follow up with me this week. However, I haven't heard back yet, so I decided to send them an email today to inquire about any updates. I'm curious if anyone else has experience interviewing with local government positions and what their timelines were like.

    Feeling Miscellaneous

I was laid off on a Saturday morning. My boss called me to deliver the news that the company is struggling financially and that my position was being eliminated. I couldn't believe it; I asked him if he couldn't wait until Monday to tell me, especially since I'm still being paid through the end of the month. Strangely, I feel a sense of relief, like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. This job had been a significant source of stress for me, primarily due to my boss. I hope everyone else in a similar situation is managing okay.
