I recently got referred to a job by my cousin at a company where he works. He submitted my resume through their internal portal, which made the process pretty straightforward. After a day, he followed up with the recruiter to check on my application status. She mentioned that they had a candidate in the final stages, which made me a bit anxious. However, just 30 minutes later, I received a call from her asking about my experience, current compensation, and salary expectations. She also scheduled an interview for me with the hiring manager, who is based in the US, for tonight. I'm excited but also overthinking the situation, especially since she mentioned another candidate was in the final round.
