I recently received a job offer and I'm currently in the process of completing the background check. The form is asking if they can contact one of my previous employers and also inquiring about the reason for my departure. I was terminated from one of my roles, and I'm feeling anxious that disclosing this might lead to the revocation of my job offer. I'm considering saying that I was laid off instead and allowing them to contact my former employer. I'm really unsure about the best approach to take in this situation.
