  1. 1

I've been laid off from my role in pharmaceutical supply chain since January, and it's been a tough six months. I've applied to over 250 jobs across the US, many outside my preferred industry, and had a few interviews that didn't lead anywhere. Recently, I found a position I was really excited about. After two months of interviews, I finally visited their site in California, despite living in Illinois. The interview seemed to go well; all six interviewers were engaged and interested in my background. The hiring manager even asked about my living situation in California and if my wife had looked for jobs there, which felt promising. He mentioned he was impressed with my experience and had no concerns about my fit for the role. However, since the interview on the 7th, I've heard nothing except for a travel coordinator saying I would hear back from the talent acquisition team within a week. I followed up professionally the next day but still haven't received any updates. I'm starting to feel anxious and question if I should consider this a red flag or if this silence is normal in the industry. I've never really gone through a formal interview process in pharma before, as my previous positions were all arranged through colleagues.
