I started a new job nearly two months ago, and it's been a rollercoaster. Initially, I really disliked it, but now I'm starting to appreciate some aspects. I took this position after being unemployed for five months, and while the pay is decent, the rigid 9-5 schedule and lack of flexibility are major downsides. I have to be in the office five days a week and get penalized for stepping out, even for appointments. However, I do get an hour for lunch, which is a plus. This role is also an unexpected pivot in my career; it could add valuable skills to my resume, even if it doesn't work out. Recently, I've been receiving interview offers from referrals I got from previous bosses for positions that align much better with my experience and future family plans. My current job is fun and my team is great, but I can't see myself staying here for long due to the limitations. I'm actively interviewing and considering these new opportunities, but I'm torn. Should I stick it out longer to see if my current role develops, or should I pursue positions that offer more flexibility and align with my career goals? I've been job hopping every two years, and I really want to find a stable position this time.
