I recently went through a lengthy hiring process with a company in City A for a role that I was really excited about. After two months and four rounds of interviews—three technical and one HR—I received a job offer. However, there was a major issue regarding the work arrangement. From the start, I made it clear that I planned to move back to City B, and I asked if a hybrid work setup could be accommodated, which they initially agreed to. When I finally received the offer, I was taken aback to find out that they expected me to be in the office three days a week. This was a complete departure from our original agreement, and I expressed my concerns. I proposed a compromise of coming in once a week instead, which I felt was more in line with what we had discussed. Since then, communication has completely stalled. It's been a week since I sent my response, and I haven't heard anything back. To make matters worse, I noticed that they reposted the job on LinkedIn the day after my reply, which makes me feel like they are starting the hiring process all over again. I’m torn about whether I should reach out to them again. Part of me thinks I should, as it might clarify the situation, but another part feels that they might just ignore me or reiterate that the three days a week requirement is non-negotiable. I can’t help but feel that my request for clarification might have upset them, and I’m not sure if it’s worth it to follow up given the impression they’ve left me with.
