I'm currently on a sabbatical traveling and won't be back in my small town until October 1st. I've noticed a vacancy for an HR position at one of the major employers here that has been relisted several times over the last six weeks, which makes me think they haven't found the right candidate yet. I'm really interested in this role and believe I could be a strong fit, especially since I work for another big employer in the area. The application deadline is September 8th, but I can't interview until I'm back. I'm trying to figure out how to express my interest in the position while also making it clear that I won't be available for an interview until after my return. I want to ensure I don't come off as uncommitted or unavailable. Any suggestions on how to word this inquiry?
