I had a recruiter screen today for a technical role in San Francisco, and during the conversation, the recruiter asked about my salary expectations. I mentioned that the job posting had a wide range, and while it was generally within my target, I didn't specify a number. She responded by saying, "let me know if that changes or if you get clarity there." Now I'm feeling anxious because the lower end of that range is way too low for me. I'm worried they might lowball me with an initial offer since I didn't provide a specific figure. I'm considering emailing her to clarify my salary expectations. Should I go ahead and do that?
