I recently accepted a job offer after applying for various positions with salaries ranging from $30K to $200K. My goal is to secure a full-time role at my desired salary while also finding a remote contractor or part-time job to supplement my income. Currently, I'm waiting on three other applications that seem to be dragging on. It's particularly frustrating that the position offering $31K has taken over 40 days just to get to the hiring manager screening stage, without even moving on to the panel or leadership interviews. The inefficiency in the interview process has been disheartening, especially when these companies claim their work is critical. I’ve noticed that many applicants are experiencing similar delays, with some reporting processes taking up to three months. It makes me wonder why the hiring process is so slow when the need for talent is so high.
