Applied at McDonald's for team member

I'm feeling really lost in my job search right now. I'm 18 and have never had a job before because I was sheltered, but I finally gathered the courage to apply. The job market is tough, and with AI making things even more complicated, it's been a frustrating experience. I've received messages saying I've passed the screening process for about ten different positions, but I'm stuck in this waiting limbo. I applied to McDonald's for a team member role, and they rejected me because I don't have ten years of experience, which is ridiculous for a minimum wage job. I've applied to several other places and haven't heard back from any of them. It would be better to get a rejection than to be ghosted like this. I even tried calling some employers, but they hang up before I can finish my introduction. It's so frustrating to deal with these hiring managers. What is going on?
