I started a new job back in February with the promise of a better position and pay after cross-training in two other departments. I have a master's degree, and my supervisor assured me that I would receive a job description and a pay increase after a couple of months of training. However, as weeks turned into months, I kept asking for updates, only to be met with "We're working on it". This cycle continued, and I found myself feeling undervalued and stressed about my finances, even though I genuinely enjoy working with my colleagues. Three weeks ago, I interviewed for a position at a local Federal Credit Union, and they offered me the job with significantly better pay. The work aligns with my interests, and the people I met during the interview seemed great. The only downside is the hours, but I'm hoping to discuss that with my new boss. Now, I'm faced with the difficult task of having a conversation with my current manager. I want to stay because of my team, but I can't ignore how underpaid I feel. If my manager can provide a job description and a pay raise by next week, I might consider staying. However, I'm starting to wonder if I'm just holding onto false hope. I'm open to advice or hearing if anyone else has been in a similar situation.
