I'm currently working in Austin, Texas, and I'm facing a tough situation at my job. My supervisor has put me in a position where I feel forced to choose between accepting a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) or resigning. It seems like she has already made up her mind about my performance and doesn't want to document it officially. I recorded our conversation to have a clear record of what was discussed. I'm unsure how this will affect my eligibility for unemployment benefits in Texas if I end up resigning. I've heard that resigning when you still have the option to work can disqualify you from getting unemployment.
