I recently had an interesting experience while exploring a potential job opportunity. The Director of Operations at a company reached out to me via LinkedIn to discuss a position. Although I have about 4.5 years of experience, I felt a bit underqualified since most of the candidates I would be competing with seemed to have 10+ years in the field. Despite my reservations, I was intrigued by the opportunity, especially after he shared the pay range, which was significantly higher than my current salary. After our initial conversation, I found a job posting that seemed to match the role he mentioned. However, shortly after I booked the interview, I noticed that the job posting was removed. This left me wondering if they had already hired someone else but still wanted to honor the interview they promised me. To be honest, I’m not keen on leaving my current job, but the financial benefits of this new role could change my life, allowing me to move from needing a roommate to potentially buying my own apartment in a few years. Interestingly, the Director didn’t even ask for my resume during our conversation, which added to my confusion about the legitimacy of this opportunity. I’m still contemplating whether to pursue this further.
