I've been dealing with a difficult situation at my job as a healthcare worker at a mid-sized clinic. For the past month, my manager has been singling me out in a way that feels really unfair. It started when she began tracking my comings and goings, calling me when I was at my desk and questioning me about my bathroom breaks. One day, I had an unexpected menstrual issue and when I returned to my desk, she confronted me about how long I was gone in front of my coworkers, which made me extremely uncomfortable. I’ve noticed that my coworkers, who often come in late or take long breaks without consequence, are treated very differently. One coworker even bullies others and has been allowed to continue working without any reprimand. I previously reported this behavior to HR, but nothing seems to change. I also have a medical condition called papillophlebitis, which caused me to temporarily lose vision in my left eye while working remotely. I requested a couple of remote days due to this condition, but my manager declined my requests without explanation. Meanwhile, a new hire who came after me is frequently on his phone during work hours without any reprimand. Recently, I was accused of not completing my work when I was actively working on a new assignment. My manager sent me an email accusing me of being unproductive without checking the timestamps. When I confronted her about it, she was rude and condescending. I felt targeted and humiliated. After seeing that my disrespectful coworker was allowed to work from home while I was being scrutinized, I decided to reach out to HR again. I've scheduled a meeting with the director of HR to discuss these issues, as the stress from my manager's behavior is impacting my health. I'm just trying to navigate this situation and hope to find a resolution.
