Navigating My Performance Improvement Plan: Seeking Input for Success

I was recently put on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) at my job in Colorado, and to my surprise, management asked me to write my own PIP. I'm feeling a bit anxious about this because I want to make sure I don't inadvertently sabotage myself. I know I can't claim that the PIP I create is unreasonable, but I also don't want to make it too easy, as that might lead to it being rejected. I'm considering asking my employer for input on what performance benchmarks should be included and how I can achieve them. I hope that by incorporating their suggestions, I can create a plan that meets their expectations while also giving me a fair chance to improve.
