I’ve been unemployed for almost 14 months now, and it feels like I’m in a never-ending cycle of frustration. I worked hard to break into my industry and finally got my foot in the door, but after just three years, I was made redundant. Since then, I’ve struggled to find work. The job market is tough, and it seems like you need to have specific experience in the exact role to even be considered. I’m caught in this limbo where I’m too experienced for entry-level positions but not enough for mid-level roles. At 30, I feel like I’m starting over, and it’s been a real blow to my self-worth. I dedicated my young adulthood to building my career, and now I feel lost. I keep hearing people say, 'you’ll get there,' but I just don’t see how. I’m reaching out for stories of hope or motivation from anyone who has been in a similar situation and managed to turn things around. I need to believe that it’s possible.
