  1. 1

I've been actively job hunting for the past year, applying for various engineering positions at medium to large corporations. I've made it to the interview stages about 9 to 10 times, and I've even reached the final interview for 5 of those roles. However, each time I was ultimately not selected. It's been frustrating because I've never received any feedback on why I wasn't chosen. After each interview, I always make it a point to follow up with the HR representative or hiring manager to thank them for the opportunity and to kindly ask for any feedback. Unfortunately, the responses have been minimal. Most of the time, I just get an auto-rejection email, and that's it. It's disheartening to see that many companies seem to ghost candidates, even after they've gone through multiple interview rounds. A friend of mine who works in HR mentioned that their legal team often advises them to refrain from providing specific feedback for fear of potential legal issues. It seems like unless you're one of the final two candidates, feedback is a rare commodity these days.
