I just received news that Cigna is undergoing a significant restructuring initiative, as announced by the CEO. The internal communication clearly states that this will lead to "fewer managers and employees," which has prompted me to start updating my resume. It seems like the healthcare sector is facing tough times, and I’m not the only one feeling the pressure. With the cost of care skyrocketing and membership numbers dropping due to changes in ACA subsidies, I can’t help but feel that this is just the beginning of a challenging job market. I've heard from others who have experienced similar layoffs in different companies, and it’s disheartening to see morale plummet with each round of cuts. I’m preparing myself for what’s next and hoping for the best.
