Today, I found myself contemplating a significant career decision. I'm currently working a permanent, full-time position at a hospital in Ontario, which is quite low-stress and comfortable. However, I feel the urge to pivot out of this field and gain more hands-on experience in my desired area. I recently interviewed for a contract role that seems promising—it offers more pay, a hybrid work schedule of four days virtual and one day in the office, and most importantly, it would provide me with the professional growth I've been seeking. The role is a 12-month contract to cover someone's maternity leave. While I appreciate the stability of my current job, the sluggish hiring process I've experienced has made me question whether I should take the leap. I know I’m fortunate to have a job while exploring new opportunities, but I can't shake the feeling that this might be the right time to take a risk. I’ve been reflecting on whether I should prioritize growth over the comfort of my current position. I’m eager to hear thoughts or advice from others who have faced similar decisions.
