I recently found myself in a nerve-wracking situation while job searching in my role as a supply chain manager. I've been looking for new opportunities outside my current company, where I work as a contractor. Thankfully, my boss and manager have been incredibly supportive, even helping the team with resumes and job referrals. About a month ago, I stumbled upon an internal position at my tech company that seemed like a significant step up from my current role. My boss encouraged me to apply, and to my surprise, I received a screening request yesterday. This is quite unusual here, as the company is notoriously selective about hiring full-time employees. Now, I'm feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. The position is senior-level, requiring a bachelor's degree and over eight years of experience, while I only have two associate degrees and around 7-8 years of experience, mainly in warehousing. My current job feels quite entry-level compared to this new opportunity, and the pay range is at least quadruple what I currently earn. Even though they reviewed my resume before reaching out, I can't shake the feeling that I need to ace every question during the screening to avoid being dismissed. I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has faced a similar situation and successfully navigated it. Any advice on how to prepare for what's ahead would be greatly appreciated.
