I've been working in a manufacturing job for the past few years after a stint in automotive parts logistics, where I ran a distribution center. I lost my previous job five years ago due to a variety of issues and decided it was time for a change. However, this current job has been a real eye-opener. While I've met some fantastic people, they seem to be the minority. The majority of my coworkers are more focused on personal drama than actually doing their jobs. It's frustrating to see adults throwing tantrums when given tasks, running to HR over minor offenses, and spending more time trying to flirt than following basic workplace rules. With the job market being what it is, I'm feeling mentally drained. I often wonder how work environments have turned into what feels like adult dating services instead of professional settings. I'm seriously considering looking for a better place to work, but the search feels overwhelming given the current landscape.
