I earn a good salary for my age and background, but the thought of leaving without another job lined up terrifies me. I have about 40 months of savings set aside, but the fear of depleting that while searching for a new position is weighing heavily on me. I live in Gurgaon and my rent is included in my monthly expenses. I’m looking for genuine advice on whether leaving a job without another lined up reflects on my success or value as a person. I’ve considered starting my job search while still employed, but the current job market seems tough, especially with the focus on AI leading to layoffs.
