I was laid off on January 26 after working for a healthcare startup for 3.5 years. I was a top performer, having been promoted twice in my last three appraisals, so the sudden news from my manager that I was one of the affected employees came as a shock. Since then, I've been actively searching for a new job. I've reached out to former managers, connections on LinkedIn, and even friends and family, but nothing seems to be working. I've applied to around 5,000 to 6,000 jobs and have spoken to several top recruitment agencies like Michael Page. With 8.5 years of experience, an MBA, and strong credentials, I can't understand why it's so difficult to find another position. I even got selected by three companies—Practo, PharmEasy, and True Meds—but they all backed out after reviewing my documents. On top of the job search struggles, my personal life has been challenging. In 2025, my father-in-law suffered a heart attack, and I lost my dad and grandmother shortly after. My wife is my only support during this tough time. I'm feeling demotivated and even depressed, and I'm at a loss for what to do next. If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I would really appreciate it.
