I’m in a tough spot right now. My lease in Utah ends tomorrow, and I’ve run out of money. I moved here two months ago for a job opportunity that didn’t pan out, and since then, I’ve been applying for jobs nonstop but haven’t had any luck. I’m feeling really stressed and alone, and I can’t afford to stay in my apartment any longer. I’m considering two options: Option 1 is to stay in Utah, but I really don’t feel good about it. I’m completely out of money and have nowhere else to go here. Option 2 is to go back to Washington and stay with my family. My parents live there, but I don’t feel emotionally safe staying with them due to lack of privacy and independence. My brother lives there too, and staying with him seems like the best option, but he has a strict lease that only allows guests for two days. I used to work for his landlord, so I could ask to be added as an occupant to stay longer without paying rent right away. However, I’m nervous about asking him and uncertain if it will work out. I just need a stable place to stay while I search for work and get back on my feet. My boyfriend and I are planning to move in together at the end of the year, so I’m really hoping to figure this out quickly. I feel stuck between staying in Utah with no money or going back to Washington and hoping my brother’s arrangement works out.
