I’ve been struggling to land interviews as a finance professional, specifically in my role as an FP&A Manager. With 6 years of experience and a degree in accounting from a top university, I thought my qualifications would help me stand out. However, after months of applying to various positions, including senior financial analyst roles, I’ve faced numerous auto-rejections. I did manage to get one interview for an SFA position, but I was told I had 'too much experience' for the role. I’ve had my resume reviewed and made suggested updates, but it hasn’t made a difference. I’ve also been in touch with recruiters who suggest jobs, but they often ghost me and don’t follow up with the details. It’s disheartening, and I can’t help but wonder if the job market is as bad as it seems. I’m at a loss for what to do next.
