I’m currently in the job market and have noticed a trend where more companies are requesting video recordings as part of the application process. It feels like every other job platform I visit is asking candidates to submit a voice note or even a video of themselves. I wouldn’t say I’m an introvert, but the idea of recording myself and sending it to HR feels uncomfortable. I much prefer the traditional process of having a brief chat with HR, followed by a technical interview and possibly a practical test. I get that companies want to know more about candidates, but I’m really curious if this is becoming a common practice across the board or just on certain platforms. Has anyone else faced this? It’s making me rethink where I apply, as I’ve seen comments from others who also avoid companies that require video submissions.
