I'm currently in a tough spot with my career. I've been working as a sales rep for Verizon for the past two years since graduating with a communications degree, and honestly, I'm feeling pretty frustrated. The job is fully commission-based, and the inconsistency in store traffic has made it really stressful. Recently, I applied for a call center position at Spectrum, which offers a base pay plus commission, but there's a catch—it's an hour away from my house, which would increase my commute from 25 miles to 60 miles. I'm torn about whether this transition is worth it. My dad thinks I need to focus on finding a career path rather than just a job, and I agree with him, but I'm not sure if a call center is the right move for me. On one hand, the benefits are significantly better, and I could work from home after four months, but the mental aspect of working in a call center doesn't excite me. I'm 24, almost 25, and I feel stuck in my current position. I've confirmed the job offer but haven't accepted it yet. I'm reaching out for advice or opinions on whether switching to a call center job is a smart decision.
