I’m currently navigating a tough job market here in California. Despite the unemployment data suggesting that things are stable, I’ve been struggling to land a job for quite some time now. I realize I need to refine my interviewing skills and possibly upskill to improve my chances. It’s just really frustrating to see these metrics that imply normalcy while my experience feels anything but. I’ve noticed that many others feel the same way, which makes me wonder about the disconnect between the data and our reality. I’ve been actively seeking roles but the lack of new job creation and the overall insecurity in the economy seem to be impacting opportunities. It feels like employers are hesitant to hire, which makes it even harder for job seekers like me.
