The person who referred me reached out to find out more details and was told that I performed well in the interview, with the hiring managers mentioning they would keep my resume on file and that I was 'next in line.' I've heard the 'resume on file' line before, and it has never led to anything positive for me. The 'next in line' comment feels like a generic excuse, and I'm struggling with feelings of frustration and anger about the whole situation. I can handle the rejection itself, but the follow-up remarks are really weighing on me.
