Today, I found myself in a confusing situation at my job in a nursery. After enduring a toxic environment with a manager who has been rude and dismissive, I decided to hand in my notice last week. My manager has always shown favoritism and made it clear that she dislikes me, especially during a recent meeting where I expressed my struggles with a difficult coworker. Instead of addressing my concerns, she told me I was the problem and that I needed to grow up. Feeling frustrated, I chose to resign. Since then, however, my manager's behavior has shifted dramatically. She's suddenly been overly friendly, smiling at me and asking how I'm doing. Surprisingly, she even moved me to a different room away from the coworker who was making my life difficult. This change came after I submitted my resignation, which makes me question why she didn't make this adjustment sooner. Now, with only four weeks left, I'm torn. My colleagues think she might be trying to convince me to stay, and I can feel the pull of that temptation. But deep down, I know I don't want to stay in this environment. I'm just really going to miss the kids and I'm anxious about starting fresh somewhere new.
