I just quit my toxic job! I handed in my notice today and will be leaving this awful place on October 29th. I can’t express how relieved I am to finally escape from this environment filled with negativity and unpleasant people. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I can’t wait for my last day to arrive. I know I don’t have another job lined up, but I’m hopeful that things will work out. I’ve been so unhappy at work, crying almost every day, and I just couldn’t take it anymore. I’m aware that the job market isn’t great right now, and some people have cautioned me against quitting without a backup plan. However, I’m choosing to prioritize my mental health and peace of mind. Here’s to new beginnings!

I'm currently working as a nursery employee but I'm feeling really overwhelmed by the toxic environment. My mental health is taking a hit, and I know I need to make a change. I'm 22 and planning to go to university next September, so I'm looking for a temporary job to tide me over until then. Unfortunately, there aren't many suitable temporary positions available in my area. My main options are working with my mum, who is a carer, or taking up agency work. If I work with my mum, I'd have to rely on public transport to get to clients' homes, which means I'd be out all day. On the other hand, agency work has a bad reputation and I'm worried it won't provide the consistent hours I need—I'm looking for at least 30 hours a week. I'm really unsure about what to do next.
