    Applied to a Job Feeling Thinking

    I'm currently in the final stretch of the interview process for a role I applied for on July 15th. It has been a drawn-out experience that’s really testing my patience. I was offered my first interview on July 24th, which took place on August 2nd. After that, I was offered a second interview on August 12th, and I had that on September 1st. Just a day later, I was offered a third interview, which happened on September 3rd. Now, here I am on September 9th, and the waiting is absolutely killing me. I understand they had to interview other candidates and just came back from a holiday, but the suspense is driving me up the wall. I felt confident after my last interview, but as the days go by, my anxiety is increasing, and I’m second-guessing everything I said. People keep telling me to 'manifest' and stay positive, but it's tough when I'm feeling so anxious. I know it’s a good sign to be in the final stages, but the waiting game feels criminal. Plus, if I do get the job, the intended start date is the 28th, and as an out-of-state candidate, I’d have barely two weeks to pack up my life and move. It’s a lot to think about, and right now, it just feels like torture.

    I recently started applying for out-of-state jobs and decided to list a local address to increase my chances of getting interviews. Surprisingly, it worked, and I have an interview scheduled for next week. However, I'm feeling anxious about how to navigate the situation without appearing deceitful. My main concern is how to respond if they ask about my availability or notice that all my work history is from one location while my address indicates otherwise. Should I stick with the lie and say I currently live in that city and am just unemployed? Or should I come clean and explain that I plan to stay at my current job until I secure a new position, even though the address I provided is valid housing? Additionally, I'm worried about my current job. I don't dislike my current employer, but I'm eager to leave the state. I want to give them a proper two weeks' notice while working remotely, but I'm concerned that if the new employer sees my in-state address, they might expect me to start immediately, which could complicate my move. I think my anxiety stems from the fact that I lied about my location, even though it was effective. Last year, I was honest about relocating and had a promising interview process, but they ultimately dropped me after inquiring about relocation assistance. Now, I'm just paranoid about the whole situation.
