I recently received an incredible job offer just two months into my current role as a marketing associate at a small startup. A few months back, I faced a tough situation when my entire department was laid off. After that, I managed to secure a new position and was genuinely enjoying my time there, building relationships with my coworkers and getting comfortable in my role. However, my top-choice company reached out to me with an open position that they believe is perfect for me. The offer includes a $30k pay increase, full health insurance, and two weeks of PTO, which is a significant step forward for my career. It feels like an opportunity I can't afford to pass up. Now, I'm grappling with how to approach my current boss about my decision. I really love my job and my team, and I feel guilty about leaving so soon. I’ve never left a job this quickly before, and I’m unsure whether to sit down and have a conversation with my boss or simply hand in my two weeks' notice. I want to be honest about my reasons but also want to be respectful of the time I've spent here. I’m leaning towards accepting the new offer, but I want to make sure I handle the situation delicately. Any advice on how to communicate this to my current employer would be greatly appreciated.
