I recently went through the interview process for a marketing role at a mid-sized tech company. I felt really confident after the final interview and was optimistic about my chances. However, I received a rejection email after they conducted a reference check and asked about my availability for the start date. It was disheartening to put so much effort into the process only to be turned down at the last minute. I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with my references or if I'm just unlucky in my job search. It's been a frustrating experience, and I can't help but feel a bit cursed in my pursuit of a new position.
