I recently graduated from college and have been struggling to find a full-time job. My family and I started an insurance franchise two and a half years ago, and my business partner is a long-time family friend. Despite applying for various positions, including some interviews over the past year, I haven't had much luck getting past the second round. I feel completely stuck right now. My father suggested that I go into the office to collaborate with my business partner, but it's an unpaid position. While I appreciate the idea of gaining experience, I can't help but feel that this is being pitched as a 'great opportunity' when it really feels more like being an unpaid assistant at a startup where my contributions may not matter. I'm open to learning, but the job market in 2026 seems to favor those with experience, making it hard for someone like me to even get an entry-level position. I'm left wondering if this is truly a worthwhile opportunity or just a way to keep me busy without any real benefit.
