I recently received a potential job offer for a coordinator role where I'd be supporting two managers from different departments that collaborate closely. The managers have already mentioned they're extremely busy and don't plan to provide much guidance, which is a bit concerning as it suggests they might not want to manage at all. The starting salary is around CAD 70,000, which seems decent, but the position is temporary, covering for someone else. This makes me hesitant to quit my current job if things don’t work out. I'm trying to figure out how to decide whether to accept this offer or continue searching, especially with the job market being tough right now. I've seen advice suggesting that a temporary role like this could serve as a good safety net and a stepping stone, allowing me to keep looking for permanent positions while earning a stable income. The high level of autonomy could also be beneficial, but I'm still weighing my options.
