  1. 1

I recently interviewed for a youth work position and I'm starting to feel uneasy about some aspects of the process. The interview schedule was preset, and I only received a week's notice for the first round, while the second round is just four days away. I currently have a job, and taking time off on such short notice would cost me money. It feels unreasonable to risk my current position for a role that requires four interview rounds, especially when missing one could lead to my application being terminated. Additionally, I noticed that overtime is expected, but when I inquired about pay, they avoided the question. I'm expected to stay late at least three days a week, yet I couldn't get a clear understanding of what that entails or how it would be compensated. Another concern is that the role requires having a job and a car for regular travel to various locations, but there’s no mention of a fuel allowance. While I’m willing to put in the effort, I feel like the tone set during the interviews suggests that the job takes precedence over my well-being, especially considering the pay isn’t life-changing. I've had similar feelings after interviews in the past, and I wish I had trusted my instincts then. Am I being unreasonable to feel this way?
