I just had my appeal hearing regarding my unemployment benefits. I called out sick due to food poisoning on June 14th and was let go from my job shortly after on June 24th. I filed for unemployment on June 31st and began certifying my weeks. However, I was denied benefits on August 12th. I filed an appeal the same day as the denial and had my hearing today, September 10th. My former employer didn't show up, so I had the chance to answer questions and present my case. Now, I'm just waiting for the result of the hearing and will update once I hear back.
