I'm a 25-year-old male and currently in a job that I absolutely love. I landed a fantastic position right out of college, with great pay for my field, an amazing work-life balance, and I only work four days a week. However, there's a significant downside: I really dislike the location. I live in a small town with about 20,000 residents, where the population skews much older, and there are very few people in their 20s. This has made it tough for me to build a social life, make friends, or even go on dates without driving over an hour to the nearest city. The town has a very hippie/alternative vibe, which isn't my scene, though I respect it. Additionally, I'm about 4.5 hours away from my friends and family, which adds to my feelings of isolation. My job is seasonal and just ended, so I'm at a crossroads about whether to return in a few months or seek out new opportunities. I've been applying and have a few interviews lined up, but I'm really torn about what to do next. The experience and resume-building I've gained are invaluable, and I've received positive feedback from potential employers about my resume and current role. I'm hoping to hear from others who might have faced a similar situation.
