I’m currently weighing two job offers and feeling a bit stuck on which one to choose. The first offer is for a Team Lead position at a semi-popular retail chain, paying $22/hr. The downside is that it requires working weekends and most holidays, but I would get to learn about guns and outdoor gear, plus they offer generous PTO. However, the communication has been slow, which makes me a bit uneasy about their organization, especially with Labor Day approaching. The second option is as a Regular Production Associate in manufacturing, offering $23.50/hr with a Monday to Friday schedule and 11 paid holidays. This role involves a lot of independent work, and while it’s more physically demanding, it seems less mentally exhausting than retail. The benefits are better too, with insurance starting on day one, but I’d only get PTO after 90 days. There is also mandatory overtime when needed. I’m feeling nervous about the second job because it required my high school diploma, which I couldn’t locate due to the school being fraudulent. I did send my college transcript, and they said it should be fine, but I can’t shake the worry that I might get rejected later on. It feels like a tough decision, and I’m open to any insights on how to approach this situation.
