I experienced a layoff after facing a frustrating situation with my salary. I had about 2.5 months of delayed pay from June to August, which was incredibly stressful. In September, my account manager informed me during a meeting that my role was being eliminated due to the decommissioning of a project. Before that news, I had already submitted my resignation in August because of the unpaid salaries and continued working until September. Surprisingly, the company later asked me to stay on as a contractor until November due to an extension of the project, and they promised to pay my September salary along with the delayed amounts as back pay. Now, I'm wondering if there's still a chance for me to receive any separation pay given these circumstances.
