I received a text message from Indeed about a job offer that raised some red flags for me. The message was from someone claiming to be from Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn, a partner company working with Amazon. They said they were hiring for an Online Data Promotion Specialist position, which involved tasks like subscribing to YouTube channels and liking videos. The pay sounded enticing, with claims that participants could earn between $250 and $500 per day. However, the message felt automated and the formatting was off, making me suspicious. After sharing the details with some friends, they all pointed out that it sounded like a scam trying to steal personal information. I’m definitely not going to engage with them or click any links.
