I recently applied for a process engineer position at the company where I've been working as a production worker for over a year. The job required at least one year of manufacturing experience along with an engineering degree. I have about five years of experience, which includes 3.5 years in production and 1.5 years in engineering. Additionally, I possess the required CAD skills and some familiarity with the specific software they mentioned. They also listed knowledge of the Japanese language as an asset, which I have a basic understanding of. Despite meeting these qualifications, I was not selected for an interview and was informed they were looking for candidates with more experience. I'm feeling a bit discouraged and am unsure how to proceed from here. I've received advice to keep networking within the company, as it could be beneficial in the long run.
