I had an HR interview last Tuesday for a position I’m really excited about. During the interview, the HR rep mentioned that they were unsure about the timeline for the next steps but estimated it could take 1-2 weeks. This past Monday, I decided to send a follow-up email to inquire about any updates. To my surprise, she responded within 5 minutes, letting me know that I should expect an update by the end of her workday on Wednesday, as she is based in Europe. Now, with just a couple of hours left until that deadline, I'm wondering if I should send another follow-up email. The consensus from some feedback I've received is to hold off since she already provided a specific timeline. I plan to wait until the end of her workday and, if I don’t hear back by Thursday, I might send a brief reminder then.

I just had an HR interview scheduled for a position at a company, but after reviewing their job listings, I found another role that I’m actually more interested in. I hadn’t applied for that position yet, but I just submitted my application for it. Now, with the HR interview approaching, I’m contemplating whether I should mention to the HR representative that I’m also interested in this other role that I just applied for. I’m unsure if this would be seen as a positive or if it might complicate things.
