I was let go from my last job last month due to my anger issues, which I struggled to control. I was earning $25 an hour while working 36 hours a week, primarily 12-hour shifts from Saturday to Monday. Now, I've secured a new position that pays $18 an hour, working Monday to Friday from 8 to 5. The work is similar, focusing on logistics and shipping, but it feels like I'm downsizing in my career. I can't shake the feeling that I'm stuck in warehouse jobs, which makes me question my worth and identity. After a few weeks of feeling down, I started to improve mentally, but now that I’m about to start this new job on Monday, I’m filled with anxiety. I worry about messing up again or ending up unhappy in this role. I found this job through an employment agency, which makes me feel even more inadequate, especially since I have a bachelor's degree that hasn’t opened many doors for me in the past six years. At least I’ll be earning again, and $18 an hour is certainly better than nothing.

I recently lost my warehouse job due to my anger issues, which has been a recurring problem for me. This is the second time I've faced this situation, and I’m starting to feel really stuck. I graduated with a history degree six years ago, but I haven't found a way to utilize it in my career. The job market in my area seems limited to telemarketing, sales team leadership, or assistant manager roles, none of which appeal to me. I’m trying to avoid jobs that require a lot of interaction with people since I know my temper can get the best of me. I’ve been thinking about what kind of work I can do that keeps me away from constant social interaction. I’ve considered roles in physical labor or jobs that allow me to work more independently, like restocking shelves or handyman services. However, I know that to find any job, I need to learn to manage my anger better. It’s frustrating because I feel like I’m at a standstill, and I really want to make progress in my career while also taking care of my mental health.
